Laser

Laser at our Barcelona centre

At our Barcelona centre, we perform laser treatments for many different situations:

  1. Laser photo facial rejuvenation

How it works

Thanks to the laser’s pulsed light and the heat it produces, we can stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and proteoglycans, all of which are vital for keeping our skin young.

What can we treat?

This technique treats skin damaged by exposure to the sun, as well as facial lines and wrinkles.

What’s the procedure like?

There’s no pain; you will just feel some heat, and a slight temporary reddening of the treated area.

Where can the laser be applied?

Although this technique is usually applied to the face, it can also be used on the skin of other areas such as the neck, the neckline and the hands.

How many laser sessions will I need and how often are they performed?

In general, between 4 and 6 sessions are recommended, separated by 3-4 weeks.

  1. Removal of tattoos and dark spots at our Barcelona centre.

Today, thanks to our state of the art lasers, it is possible to remove skin spots of all colours safely and swiftly.

What’s the procedure like?

An anaesthetic cream is applied to make the procedure painless.

How many sessions will I need, and how often are they performed?

The number of sessions depends on the colour, depth and size of the tattoo. For complete removal of a tattoo, between 6 and 10 sessions are usually necessary. If we just mean to reduce it, two or three sessions are usually enough. Dark spots can be removed in one or two sessions, every 6-8 weeks.

MICROPIGMENTATION AT OUR MARESME CENTRE

Micropigmentation is a treatment in which pigments are implanted in the epidermis. This can correct small defects in the eyebrows, lips, or other parts of our body and make them more attractive.

Where else in the body can it be useful?

It can be used to improve the eyebrows or lips, reconstruct areolas, and disguise scars or hair loss.

What is the procedure like?

We use homologous natural pigments. The procedure is practically painless since an anaesthetic cream is applied previously. The length of treatment depends on the area to be treated. In the case of small areas such as the lips or eyebrows the session usually lasts about one hour.

How long does the whole treatment last?

The treatment usually lasts between one and four years, depending on the type of skin and the area being treated. We recommend starting a new micropigmentation treatment before the previous one has completely finished, so as to maintain the result obtained.

What things should I keep in mind after the micropigmentation treatment?

During the week after the treatment, you will not be able to wear makeup and you should use the cream prescribed; you should also observe the general rules of hygiene that you will be given at the end of the session. After treatment of the lips, you will not be able to smoke or eat hot foods for a few hours afterwards. If you sometimes have cold sores, you should take preventive measures.

You will not be able to sunbathe during the week after the treatment.

Can anyone have micropigmentation?

People who have skin lesions in the area to be treated, and people who are taking anticoagulants or immunosuppressants should not have this treatment.
